Muay Thai Kickboxing:
Muay Thai, or commonly known as Thai Boxing, is the national sport of Thailand which originated from the ancient battlefield tactics of the Thai army. For centuries, Thai rulers have attached great importance to the training of their soldiers, in skills of hand to hand fighting. Very often, the rulers themselves were great fighters: Strong, valiant and skilled in the art. As a result, the Thais have consistently proven their dominance on the battlefield against foreign armies. Thai Boxing matches allow the use of punches, kicks, elbows, knees and standup grappling. Thai training methods develop devastating power, speed and superb cardiovascular endurance in a safe setting, thanks to the use of sophisticated training methods.
Class Description:
The Class, an hour in length, begin with the first 20 minutes dedicated solely to warming up and stretching of the muscles. The remainder of the class consists of various techniques, drills, and endurance rounds. Sparring rounds at the end of class are open only to those students with a Gold rank or above.
